Sire Line Kilpeck Diamond Knight is sired by England's leading RID stallion Roma Diamond Skip, who is a Sport Horse Breeders (GB) Lifetime Approved Grade 1 stallion. Roma Diamond Skip was specifically bred for performance and was the Reserve Champion RID stallion at the Royal Dublin Show in Ireland at 4 years old (competing against mature stallions). By the age of 11 he had already produced two RID stallions and many of his offspring have been sold for export. He consistently produces performance horses and is a proven producer of winners and champions in eventing, showjumping, hunters and dressage. Roma Diamond Skip is the sire of Classic Diamond Charm, who represented Great Britain at the World Breeding 7 year old Championships CCI** at Le Lion D’Angers in 2006.
Roma Diamond Skip’s sire Shauna's Diamond RID completed the National Stallion Association Performance Test (NASTA) and was awarded Grade 1 status. Shauna’s Diamond was approved with the Sport Horse Breeders of Great Britain. He won over £500 in Newcomers, Foxhunters and Grade C with the British Show Jumping Association. Shauna’s Diamond has produced numerous graded show jumpers and eventers in the UK as well as many sons and daughters approved for breeding around the world.
Roma Diamond Skip’s dam Hollywell Rose was herself a Grade A mare by the popular RID stallion Skippy and out of the incredibly successful mare Shannon V.
Shauna was the dam of 3 Irish Draught stallions: Shauna’s Diamond, Trumpet Major, and Shauna’s Pride, who accumulated 46 SJAI points in Ireland. Shauna was a multiple Broodmare Champion and qualifier for National Irish Draught Broodmare Championships, Millstreet, Co. Cork.
Through Diamonds are Trumps, Kilpeck Diamond Knight is directly related to international successes such as:
Royal Charmer (ISH), ridden by Markus Fuchs (SUI) - 1993 Irish Sport Horse gelding by Cavalier (HOLST), out of Kilkenny Trumps (ISH), by Diamonds are Trumps (RID).
Richmont Park (ISH), ridden by Rodrigo Pessoa (Bra). In Affalterbach, Richmont Park (ISH) and Rodrigo Pessoa claimed the top spot in the 1m55 Table A class.
Carlow Clover - 1994 Irish Sport Horse gelding by Clover Hill (RID), out of Clonard Diamond (AID) by Diamonds are Trumps (RID).
Coolcorran Cool Diamond - by Glidawn Diamond (full brother to Diamonds are Trumps) out of a Bronti mare.
Diamonds are Trumps is one of four stallions that were full brothers all by the great King of Diamonds and out of the highly influential mare Kildalton Countess.
King of Diamonds, born in 1962, was a Grade A showjumper. He was described as the single best known Irish Draught of modern times and the saviour of the Irish Draught as a breed, as a result of his prepotent jumping ability (The Irish Draught Horse).
King of Diamonds is ranked 21st in the World Breeding Rankings for the period 1992 - 2001 on the basis of 19 of his progeny, including Rodrigo Pessoa's Special Envoy, John Ledingham's Millstreet Ruby, and Joe Fargis' Mill Pearl.
Dam Line Kilpeck Diamond Knight’s dam Knockany Princess is a Select Hornby Premium RID mare, the highest status for mares in England. Knockany Princess is sired by Slyguff Hero, a full brother to the world famous sire of showjumpers, King of Diamonds. At Kilpeck Diamond Knight’s stallion inspection, the Irish inspectors commented on his resemblance to the legendary King of Diamonds.
Knockany Princess is out of the Irish Draught mare Cahir Kinalla by Laughton. Laughton was a quality horse, renowned for his jumping ability. Laughton was considered to be one of the best sires of his generation and certainly one of the greats for passing on jumping ability. For popular acclaim he could perhaps have out-distanced King of Diamonds himself if he had anything like the same number of mares (The Irish Draught Horse).
Knockany Princess’ offspring are show jumping, foxhunting, and proving to be superb all-round horses. Knockany Princess has produced another performance RID stallion named Hawklands Silver Prince. He regularly competes in B.S.J.A. showjumping, ridden hunters and he also foxhunts. Hawklands Silver Prince was the Reserve Ridden Hunter Champion, and highest placed stallion, at the National Irish Draught Show in 1999. In 2000, Hawklands Silver Prince won the Skippy Two Plate for Best Performance Stallion at both of the IDHS(GB) breed shows. Knockany Princess is also the dam of Hawklands Princess Blue, a purebred mare, who has been successfully shown at Wembley and Hickstead over fences - an amazing accomplishment for a purebred!
