Hangon Caroline was born at Hendy Stud in Wales, UK. She was imported from the UK and is registered with both the IDHS(GB) and IDHSNA. In 2001 Hangon Caroline was inspected by the IDHS(GB) in England and received an overall mark of 152/180. She achieved her best scores in the categories of head & neck, shoulder, barrel & back, and hindquarters. She passed her inspection and was awarded RID status.
Hangon Caroline placed 4th in the 2 year old RID class at the 2001 Midlands Irish Draught Show in Southam, England.
Hangon Caroline is sired by the imported Irish Draught named Hangon Johnny who competed successfully in showjumping and eventing in both the UK and the USA. Hangon Johnny was the winner of the 2 year old colt class at the 1990 Irish National Show. His full sister named Madden Lady was the 1987 All Ireland Champion Foal, 1998 All Ireland Champion Filly and a Millstreet Qualifier in 1989.
Caroline’s dam’s sire is the Irish Draught stallion named Diamond Jake who was a Grade B showjumper and foxhunter in the UK. Diamond Jake draghunted and hunted with the Anglesey Foxhounds. He quickly qualified Newcomers, Foxhunter, Members Cup and was chosen to showjump for Wales, then partnered by Tom Lloyd (aged 16) on the Welsh Young Riders International Team. Tom and Jake actually represented Wales on three occasions, winning 2 Gold and 1 runners-up medal. Tom and Jake jumped for Gwynedd area team in the County Championships in September 1993, winning a Silver Medal at that outing. He also won the Area 20 Foxhunter Trophy, and the Winter League A B + C Trophy at Warrington, Cheshire. Diamond Jake gained 3020 points BSJA showjumping and was rewarded the 1994 2nd Place and 1993 3rd Place in the overall IDHS(GB) Performance Award. He won the first ever IDHS(GB) Performance Horse Pure Bred Trophy in 1993 and again in 1994. He met with a terrible tragic accident at nine years of age in 1994 while out draghunting and was sadly lost. (The Irish Draught Horse Yearbook)
